World 1: Noasis

- World 1: "Noasis" (WIP) -

BASICS

The second world that contestants will arrive at is "Noasis", a planet of salt flats, brine, and hot sand. Most of the fresh water is trapped in the atmosphere, creating a thick haze that prevents the environment from cooling down to anything below room temperature, even at night. During the day, the heat is almost unbearable.


GEOGRAPHY

- Flat, Sandy, and Ever-Shifting

World 1 is covered in salt flats, gentle sand dunes, and a few rocky outcroppings here and there. Of course, when conditions do get windy, it reshapes the landscape quickly and will bury anything that stands still too long.

- Briney Lakes

There is no fresh water on the surface of World 1. It's just nasty, nasty brine so salty it would preserve you from the inside out if you drank it.


WEATHER and ATMOSPHERE

- Hot, Muggy, and Uncomfortable

World 1 is warm at best and scorching hot at worst. The sun can't quite get through the cloud layer of the planet, but that means all the heat that does get through is absorbed and stays trapped within the atmosphere. This makes the air unpleasant and potentially dangerous to most Earth-like life.

- Watch the Wind

World 1 is normally pretty stable in terms of weather, but sometimes large enough fluxuations between daytime and nightime temperatures can cause massive duststorms, and VERY rarely, waterspouts if vortexes of wind form above the planet's briney lakes.


LIFE

- Burried Underground

There aren't many living things on World 1, but the organisms that do make their home here are all subterranian or sand-dwelling creatures.
